Barnaby, Resident 014, is Budderlee’s friendly village corner store owner and Benny’s devoted father. He encourages his son to be respectful, curious, and kind. Together, they share surplus goods with elderly neighbours and give their time to help, listen, and keep them company. For all his gentle ways, Barnaby was a master at card games. He remembered what had been played, watched carefully, and could turn an unpromising hand into a victory before anyone quite saw it coming. On games club evenings, he was often found playing well into the night, surrounded by friends, cups of tea, and a growing pile of cards.
