About Walter

Walter is a proper and particular fox who believes a well-made garment should last for generations. He lives above the village tailor shop inherited from his father and grandfather, where the steady rhythm of needle and thread has shaped much of his life.

Although Walter can appear rather stuffy, beneath his carefully buttoned coat is an exceptionally generous heart. When a resident is in need, hems are quietly repaired, warm quilts appear at doorsteps, and payment is rarely mentioned. During quieter afternoons, Walter enjoys tea and biscuits with his best friend Arthur, Budderlee’s bookseller, or shares his latest handiwork at the quilting club with Hattie, the village seamstress.

Walter reminds us that kindness does not always announce itself. Sometimes it is found in the things carefully mended, thoughtfully made, and quietly given.
